Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. released on the 21st of July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her perform on Rihanna references. It was announced on the 8th of December that she had signed with Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October of 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer to J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. Then, on the 9th November she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two additional singles were also released on the 11th of November with the titles Pedigree and One. Then she appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album of the same title. In February of 2019, a music clip was made available for the track. It has already received over 3 million views on YouTube within its debut week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
