Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for her role as the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. Also, she has appeared in shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney is the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised with her four brothers and sisters. She envisioned becoming a court reporter in childhood but started modelling while in high school and eventually gaining commercials when she moved from New York. Her first role as an actor was as a young girl in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of films, television movies and dramatics since then. Her career as a professional has been better than her personal life. The accomplished actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two failed marriages. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her sole son.
